My Experience: I have recently been introduced to cookbooks and I’m loving them so much! I have tried three dishes so far following The Full Plate by Ayesha Curry and they were delicious! It was unplanned that they all belonging in the seafood section. I might have had a craving for them. Following a recipe is highly recommended because they’re guaranteed to taste delicious! I loved the Scallops dish so much that I have made it twice in one weekend!

Here’s how my Scallops looked like. I’m amazed to have been introduced to lemon zest. I heard about it but have never tried. The aroma was delightful! The sauce to this dish was addicting. The jalapeño in it was fantastic. I’m drooling just thinking of it. I made the dish and honestly, I couldn’t finish posting about it on Instagram @howusefulitis until I have eaten 6 pieces of Scallops! It was so flavorful.

Below was the Garlic Shrimp I tried to make next. It turned out wonderful! I was really surprised how fast this dish took to cook. Look how simple the ingredients were. I didn’t even mince out my garlic. I just sliced and diced and it still tasted delicious. The recipe asked for chives but I have homegrown green onions so that worked out fine.

The last recipe I tried was Pancake-Battered Coconut Shrimp and it was again tasty. I haven’t eaten shrimp this way before because of the sweetened coconut the shrimp was sweet. But it’s also a little salty because the recipe asked to add some salt. It was delicious right after fried it. (Ignore the bourbon bottle in the ingredients picture. I actually substituted 2% milk for dark ale when I thought to substitute bourbon when I couldn’t located at the store).

I tried making the Black Pepper Steak but instead of using rib eye the author suggested I use beef tenderloin and instead of using onions and mushrooms I use broccoli because that’s what I have in the fridge. I loved the taste of the sauce!

Another version of Black Pepper Steak substituted mushrooms for cauliflower. Dinner 12/4/20.

Today, 11/15/20, I tried to cook lamb chops. I marinated yesterday and left it in the fridge overnight. It’s my first time ever to cook lamb chops and it tasted delicious!

On 11/20/2020 I tried to make fried rice, instead of chicken, I use shrimp. I even carved the pineapple just like the cookbook! Haha. I left out the raisins and curry powder. I cook the shrimp with the recipe from Cookish by Christopher Kimball.

Recently I tried the Citrus-Glazed Salmon recipe and loved it!

I will continue to add more of my cooking from this cookbook here in the future as I tried out new recipes. I intend to eat everything in this cookbook! There’s the cocktail section in this cookbook too so I will have to try it out as well. I highly recommend everyone to cook following this cookbook because it has fancy meals to treat yourself and your family with. I can’t wait to try the lamb chop dish this weekend!

On 2/19/21, I made Avocado-Cucumber Salad as a side dish for my lunch and the recipe for the sauce was delicious!

Something funny to laugh. I wondered why my unboxing video and pictures for this cookbook garnered a lot of views.. I finally decided to read up on the author’s info and was surprised to know that she’s a celebrity! I had no idea.. because I don’t watch TV.. but now I do! And the family photos within the pages of this cookbook of the author’s kids eating her cooking was so precious.

Pro: delicious recipes, easy to follow, tips on picking fresh seafood, tips on thawing seafood, family photos, real pictures of food, easy to make, easy to find ingredients, sauces from scratch

I rate it 5 stars!
