My Experience: I started reading Behind Closed Doors on 11/28/17 and finished it on 12/1/17. There is a lot of hype with this title and I had to put my other reads on hold to read this book! It’s definitely an excellent read. Another book to warn me about people with two faces, one for the public to see and the other for private audience. I like the connection with the end of Molly and Jack. I don’t like that Red room at all and I’m glad of its unintended use in the end. Bad guys are definitely difficult to fish out nowadays when they could either look creepy or wrap in success.

This book is told in the first person point of view following Grace Harrington. The story flips back and forth between past and present. In the past, Grace, 32, tells about how she came to be the legal guardian of her younger sister, Millie, 17, who has Down Syndrome and how she and her husband Jack Angel had met. In the present, they are now married for over one year  and appear to lead the most perfect life for others to see. Jack is a successful lawyer. They live in a beautiful house. Grace cooks and host a perfect party. Jack appears to be a devoted husband, always accompany Grace everywhere she goes. The past slowly catches up to the present. Grace knows the truth about her marriage but there’s no way to share it with anyone else. Her sister will soon be in danger because her husband wanted Millie as his ultimate prize. Grace will have to save herself and her sister, and fast!

This book is very well written. I love the whole concept of this book even though it scares me to read about people with evil intentions. I do like some of the knowledge I take away from reading this book, such as the mistakes with money Grace made after the sale of her house and the information she overshared about her family relationships. I like that she tries many ways to escape and I like how Grace appears to hit a dead end at every turns. I like Millie too. One thing I don’t enjoy is the constant phone calls Grace made to set up her alibi. It’s common and predictable. I like the surprise ending and I highly recommend everyone to read this book!

Pro: fast paced, page turner, easy to read, suspense, mystery, people with two faces
