My Experience: I started reading Lego: Nexo Knights, Macy and the King’s Tournament as a bedtime story for my 5 years old son on 4/1/17 and we finished it that same night. This book is thin with more pictures than words. I enjoyed the humor in this book. My son loves it because it’s Lego. He also loved that some characters from this book came from the other Lego book we read before. Here’s my review of the other Lego book: Knights Academy. We had a blast reading this book!

In this book, readers will follow Macy, a member of the Nexo Knights practicing her skills with the mace in the training room. Her mom interrupted Macy’s practice to request her attendance for King’s birthday celebration and he wanted her to wear a dress. Macy doesn’t like wearing a dress because she’s a Knight. At the party, a guest, Jorah Tightwad bragged about his group of knights known as Tighty Knighties were the best knights compared to Macy and her fellow Nexo Knights. A bet ensued and a tournament takes place. In the meantime, the bad guys Jestro and The Book of Monsters were putting together a plan to conquer the kingdom. They will show up at the tournament and we will see which group of Knights handled the bad guys.

It’s a great book for kids. I like that each chapter has a title, and it pretty much summarize what to expect in that chapter. The storyline is upbeat and fun. I like that the author allows both group of knights to be good at something. The Tighty Knighties may be good at using his sword to craft a sculpture, but afraid of a battle with real weapons. I like how the Knights are being valued. I always like stories where good wins over evil. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
