My Experience: I started reading Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda on 1/8/17 and finished it on 1/14/17 at 3:40AM. This book is a great read. I enjoy the humor and the great family dynamic. His friends are great too. His drama teacher Ms. Albright is really cool. The ending is so sweet. I really love how everything comes together at the end.

In this book, readers will follow the point of view of Simon Spier, a high school student. His life revolves around his family with parents and two sisters Alice and Nora with his 3 best friends Nick, Abby, and Leah. He has many other friends he sits with at lunch too but he’s not very close with them. When each of his friend’s birthday comes, Leah usually brings in a chocolate cake and in order to have a slice of cake, each person have to wear a party hat. Simon’s family is real fun. They like to watch reality TV shows and play trivia together. I really like the Facebook Trivia. That’s hilarious! I like Simon’s parents. They are really cool parents. I love their parole to being grounded. His sisters are too awesome as well!

The plot and the organization of this book is great. The writing is easy to read and at times, I just couldn’t put the book down. It’s full of suspense that I couldn’t guess until it is reveal in the end. I really like the emails between Simon and Blue. Blue is super sweet. I wish there’s more of him in the story. I like reading his emails but I can’t recall if he shows up in the story that much. I like following Simon’s train of thoughts too, especially at the end. It’s really cute!

    Excellent review!
    I have to ask: why do you do a disclaimer when you get a book from the library? I’ve seen people mention that the source for the book was the library, but not that they give a disclaimer from the library…just curious. Or do you just do it with all books? Like for the ones you own too?

      I do the disclaimer for all books I reviewed. I post my reviews to many places: my blog, goodreads, edelweiss, amazon, barnes & noble, and books-a-million (I only created that account recently). Amazon has that law this past year or so saying that in order to prevent fake reviews, they want reviewers to put a note to indicate where the book comes from, especially when the book was not purchased through Amazon. So it’s a habit of mine to put on all of my reviews even for books I own. 🙂

    I am IN LOVE with this book. I finished it in like two days because it was so sweet and full of suspense like you said. It portrayed so many things pretty accurately. And yes, MORE BLUE PLEASE! I’m really looking forward to Becky Albertalli’s new book this year

    I keep seeing reviews for this book everywhere and I think that’s the universe telling me to read it already 😂. It sounds like such a good book and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I love how there’s a big time family aspect. I might have to sneak this one in after I finish Gilded Cage and before I read The Song Rising if I can get my hands on a copy.     I’ve heard nothing but great things about about this book. Now I’m desperate to have it on my shelves. Also, I love how the parents and siblings are involved in the story. I feel like I don’t read much of that these days. Or I’m just not reading the right books haha. Awesome review, Jasmine! 😀
