About: Ginger and Moe and the Incredible Coincidence is a children’s picture book written by Linda DeFruscio-Robinson. This book will be published on 3/7/2017 by Brown Books Kids, 49 pages. This book was illustrated by Derita Finchum. See below for more information about the author.Synopsis from Goodreads:
Brother-and-sister cats Ginger and Moe have a perfect little family with their owners, Linda and Greg. Over time, however, Linda becomes allergic to her two cats. When her doctor tells her that her allergies will not get better as long as Ginger and Moe live with her, she’s heartbroken and wonders what will happen to the cats now. Will Ginger and Moe ever find another loving home? It doesn’t seem likelyuntil something incredible happens. Ginger and Moe and the Incredible Coincidence is a heartwarming true story that offers lessons about love, sacrifice, and the nature of fate. It takes a clear and sensitive approach to teaching young readers about allergies and serves as a powerful reminder that every challenge comes with the opportunity to find a creative solution.
My Experience: I read Ginger and Moe and the Incredible Coincidence for my 5 year-old on 12/1/16 and finished it that same night. I read this book as his bedtime story. We both liked this book a lot. We liked the illustrations but was disappointed that they were not colored in like the cover of the book. Despite that, we both enjoyed the story and the families that came into contact with Ginger and Moe and how they ended up loving and caring for the cats. I like that the author talks about giving the cats a bath, taking them to the veterinarian, and making sure to keep them together when finding them a new home. I also like that the author gives definitions to words that kids may not understand. One thing some of us may not know that when the cat is 12 years old, that they are actually really old in cat age. If the author could include a short conversion to human age, my kid could understand it better. Overall, it is still a great book and I highly recommend everyone to read to their children before they sleep. It’s an incredible story to show how much kindness people share towards their pets.
Pro: cute cover, definitions to big words, loving & caring toward the cats, big font, great illustrations
Con: lack of colors to the pictures inside the book, lack of cat info on age
I rate it 4.5 stars!

Yes. The cover has color which is cute, especially it looks like it was done by crayons or color pencils. I like that more than regular picture. 🙂

I can see you might like this book too because you have a cat and you can relate to the author if you ever become allergic to your cat and have to find your cat another home 🙂

I don’t have a cat anymore, I had one when I was little, now I have a dog, ha ha. I don’t think I’m allergic to cats though.
