The genres are young adult, dystopia, science fiction, and romance. There are 2 books to this series so far: book 1 is called Disruption and book 2 is called Corruption. The author lives in Sydney, Australia and already published several books before this one. (Follow link to read my review of book 2).

Gus really should’ve been an actor, or an underwear designer. He covered his ass like no one. @28%

My Experience: I started reading Disruption on 10/10/16 and finished it on 10/15/16. This book is truly an awesome read! I have to admit that I picked this book up earlier but I was having a book hangover from another read and somehow was not into this book. Boy, am I glad to give this book a second chance and read it again. I am surprised and amazed at how good this story is. I couldn’t put it down and stayed up to 2AM last night reading it. I really like the characters in this book. They are smart, brave, clever, independent, fierce, ambitious, talented, and beyond. The plot is exciting, although fiction, but did I heard on the news that our future will one day have a micro chip inserted into our body? This book might be our future’s reality because it has the technology to tell you who your true love is! At the rate of how much we rely on technology, this book feels real and reading it only speed up my adrenaline rush. I love the dialogues between Maggie & Gus and Maggie & Quentin. They are witty and humorous. I am dying to read the second book! Jessica Shirvington might just be one of my new favorite author. Her writing and the world that she built will only grab your attention and will not let you go. It’s believable and touching. I highly recommend this book!

His lips were as full as they’d always seemed and he knew exactly how to use them. In fact, I suspected they had some kind of magical quality since everything he did with his lips seemed to ignite every part of my body that he wasn’t touching. @89%

Maggie Stevens is the main leading character in this book. I enjoy following her thinking process and her strategy to her mission. She’s brave and independent. She has good heart despite the sacrifices she made. Quentin Mercer, my new book crush! He knows Karate, responsible, smart, handsome, and an all around good person underneath that power and money image. I wish this book has his POV. Even without it, the author still gave him a strong role in this book and he was described nicely when his part comes to play. The romance is light but it’s enough for readers to want more.

line5Pro: page turner, heart-pumping, mind-racing, adrenaline rush, awesome characters and plot, humor,

Con: none

I rate it 5 stars!

I am SO GLAD you liked this book!
Hey, we are still starting Gilded Cage on Monday, right? Have you started it already? ::wags finger:: I saw on Edelweiss that it said Currently Reading…if you are, don’t get too far ahead of me, lol.
Back to this, though: are you in love? I am. I bought Corruption, that’s how much I loved this, and I can’t wait to read it. Just gotta get through all the ones that have due dates first.
    Great review!

Oh, ok! Whew! I’ll see you Monday to read it. I’m currently reading The Beauty of Darkness, the last one in the Kiss of Deception series. It’s one of my Overdrive books that is coming due, and I waited since August!
Yeah, on my reviews I try to give enough of the book for a taste, like a little more than the blurb, but not enough to spoil anything. I would say the first five chapters in most books…longer books get a little more info. I don’t want to spoil it, but I also don’t want to just give away what they read in the blurb, you know?
Yes, I love your review style! I like that ours are different…and I own the book, so I could lend it to you, I think…I just have to learn how.

I’m not on Snapchat. I don’t get it. Then again, I’m not on Instagram either. I’m on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter (only mainly for my reviews), and Goodreads. I’m not really a big social media girl. Even Twitter kind of weirds me out…but I get to participate in giveaways more now, lol! 😊

And yes, I bought Corruption as an ebook. See, it’s available in AUS already, so I created an AUS address and it let me buy the book! Then I just transferred back to my US address, and went back to Amazon.com being my default.
I wanted the book so badly that I googled how to do it. And it works awesomely. Now I can switch addresses and buy AUS and U.K. books! Yay!

That technology portion is over my head but I’m glad you figured it out! Another blogger made a comment on this post saying she wrote an email to the publisher and got her ARCs in the mail for both Disruption & Corruption. She posted the email in the comment section. I sent it but haven’t heard back yet. Worth a try. We need to send emails to publishers. Other bloggers are doing it. We should too 🙂 Do let me know if you have any luck though. 🙂 I haven’t yet.. haha
