About: Daring the Bad Boy is a fiction novel written by Monica Murphy. It was recently published on 8/22/2016 by Entangled Publishing. The genres are young adult, romance, and contemporary. Monica Murphy is the author of many book series, with One Week Girlfriend being the more popular books among her other books per Goodreads ratings.
My Experience: I started reading Daring the Bad Boy on 8/23/16 and finished it on 8/25/16. This book is an okay read for me. It didn’t pull a lot of emotions out of me, a bit bland, very on the safe side. I think middle school level may enjoy this book more because I went to camp when I was in middle school. Annie is the main female character and she’s a goody-two-shoes. She wants to dare herself to be brave and try new things her first time away from home. Jake is the main male character and he’s a trouble maker. He got sent to camp to work as a counselor for the summer to get back on track. They met and slowly grow fond for each other, with few minor setbacks. The supporting characters are okay. The girls were mean girls at first and became supporting to Annie later. The age of the characters are high schools, but they don’t really go around seeking trouble. Activities surrounding camp. Forbidden love between counselor and campers. Jake wanting to stay out of trouble became annoying with his worries about him getting caught. Boys do what boys do when they see girls and girls like to gossips about hot boys. The cover of the book is very welcoming. I was expecting a really fun happy read, but not so much.
Pro: summer camps, friendship, family, forbidden love, gossips about boys, positive characters
Con: the bad boy repeats a lot of why he shouldn’t break the rules
I rate it 3.0 stars!

How Useful It Is 
I think you can’t tell if a book is going to be good until you give it a go. You’re always brave and try out lots of different books. And you’re a quick reader, like me. I really like that you give books a chance. Though I’m not a contemporary reader myself, I do like romance in my novels. It sounds like a cute book…good for a younger YA reader, I’m guessing?

Yes but it’s not very interesting read. Maybe the middle & high schoolers will enjoy more. It just doesn’t grasp me.

How to know which is good until you read it? Have you open an Edelweiss account? Some books on there are same as NetGalley and some aren’t. NetGalley is more user friendly though.

I just learned of Edelweiss recently. It’s harder to get approval on there and I’m not sure if they have better titles. But hey, more books to read. Can’t complain 😄
