Fairest Review

About: Fairest is book 3.5 of the Lunar Chronicles written by Marissa Meyer. This book is about the Lunar Queen Levana and it has 220 pages. The genres are young adult, fantasy, and science fiction and it was published on 1/27/2015 by Feiwel & Friends. It gives the background of Levana growing up and how she comes to be Queen. It also gives the background of Cinder and introduces Winter, the character for the 4th and final book. There are 4 books in The Lunar Chronicles series: 1. Cinder, 2. Scarlet, 3. Cress, and 4. Winter. Please click on the titles for my reviews on each of the books in the series.

My Experience: I started reading Fairest on 10/4/2015 and finished it on 10/8/2015. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I like the series more after reading this book because I have more understanding to the characters in the series. Marissa wrote a great story with really good characters. It’s definitely a series to collect and re-read. I love the drawing of the inside book cover, front & back, of the Lunar Palace. It’s so beautiful!

Reading about the wicked queen, Marissa Meyer did a great job portraying Levana. As I read, I dislike her more and more and yet I can’t stop reading about her. She’s so interesting, yet, the things she do will only make my skin crawl. I grit my teeth and read on about her and at times I feel sorry for her. I understand she has a reason for vengeance, but taking it out on others is something I can’t fathom.

Pros: page turner, detailed background, fast paced

Cons: none

I rate it 5 stars!

Oh my, this seems like an extremely interesting read. I always love to learn the reasons why villains always seem to act in a certain mannerism, something which you can never really perceive in disney films…Great review 🙂
